Central University of Finance and Economics,Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Areawas established in September 2020. It is jointly founded by the Central University of Finance and Economics, Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government and the Management Committee of Guangzhou Development Zone to serve Guangzhou and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay District construction and development and the national "One Belt One Road" strategy as its purpose,Focusing on theoretical research in the field of economic management, policy consulting, high-end talent training and financial technology industry incubation, the institute aim to become an international and open innovation platform integrating "practice, study and research".
Relying on the unique discipline advantages of the Central University of Finance and Economics, closely combining local development needs and the construction and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the national "One Belt One Road" strategy, the institute will carry out a series of innovative research in the following areas: finance in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, trade, taxation, legal coordination mechanism research, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area fiscal and taxation system and financial service innovation research, green finance demonstration zone construction research, financial technology innovation and application research, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area regional financial risk monitoring, early warning and prevention research, Research on anti-money laundering, anti-terrorist financing, and anti-tax evasion cooperation mechanisms in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; comparative research on the world’s major bay area economies, research on the digital economy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Technology Innovation Center, Global Supply Chain Management, E-commerce and smart finance research, etc. Theinstitute works closely with the Guangzhou Municipal Government or other units to regularly publish reports on the financial development of the Greater Bay Area and regularly hold high-end financial forums.
The research institute adopts the model of "projects to lead students", based on the international frontier, focusing on industrial innovation, serving the intellectual needs of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and carrying out the training of professional master's graduate students with integration ofpractice and education, interdisciplinary and compound, and undertaking relevant research-orientedinternship training for master and doctoral students, innovation and entrepreneurship education; the institute offers full-time master’s programs such as master of finance (financial technology), master of accounting (intelligent finance), and part-time master’s programs such as master of business administration (MBA). In the meanwhile, Senior Management Training Program (EDP) and other non-academic degree teaching programs, vigorously attract and gather outstanding talents, providing human resources and intellectual support for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and promoting the development of the Greater Bay Area.
The research institute gives full play to its industrial incubation function, establishes an investment and financing service platform for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, guides well-known investment and financing institutions at home and abroad to settle in relevant financial technology industrial parks, attracts and cultivates various financial technology companies to incubate in the park, and assists Guangzhou high-tech enterprises in technology Achievement transformation landing and industrialization; building a financial intermediary service platform to provide enterprises in the park with services such as corporate growth, management consulting, financial and accounting services, tax services, investing and financial consultation, and financial law.
The research institute is located at No. 19 Yuerong Road, Huangpu District, Guangzhou. It covers an area of8,020 square meters, with a total construction scale of 25,000 square meters. There are 242 independent rooms and an open space area ofapproximately 2,000 square meters with independent scientific research and office areas, teaching area and living area.
The institute will implement the motto of Central University of Finance and Economics of "loyalty, unity, truth-seeking, and innovation", closely focusing on the national strategic needs and the demands of the social and economic development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Guangzhou City. Being brave to innovate, constantly improving competitiveness, and trying to build a first-class research institute with important influence at home and abroad, the institute will make greater contributions to the development of the country, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and Guangzhou.
